Information and exchange session on doctoral studies within the Faculty of Language and Literature

25.10.2023

Dear prospective attendees, dear individual doctoral students,

cordially invites individual doctoral students and anyone with a keen interest to join us for an informative and interactive session on pursuing a Ph.D. within the Faculty of Language and Literature (Fac. 13). We will not delve into the broad aspects of doctoral studies in general (please refer to the note below), but rather, set our focus on the unique features of pursuing a Ph.D. within Fac. 13. We aim to explore what sets the traditional individual doctoral program apart from the structured Ph.D program within the four classes at GSL&L.

What may not be widely known in this context is that when pursuing an independent doctoral project within the faculty, you also become an affiliated member of GS L&L. Therefore we would like to encourage you to actively engage in shaping the activities of our Graduate School and wish to initiate a fruitful dialogue with you and jointly exploring opportunities and ideas.

Guest: Tabea Hawkins (Representative of individual doctoral students from Fak. 13)

Date: Wednesday, October 25, 2023
Time: 4:00 PM (sharp)
Location: Geschw.-Scholl-Pl. 1 (HGB), Room M 105

Event tip: docphil information session (October 25, 2023, 2:00 PM, HGB M105)

General inquiries about doctoral studies at faculties 09-13, particularly regarding the Promotionsordnung (doctoral degree regulations) and the planning of an academic career, will be addressed directly in advance (and in the same lecture hall) during the docphil information session. A visit to this complementary event is therefore highly recommended.
